2000:
Fifty-five Oscar statuettes are stolen. All but three are recovered in a trash bin ten days later. Later, on July 13, 2003, the FBI announces it has found in the Fort Lauderdale - Broward County, Florida area.
2004:
Authorities announce that they body of writer-actor Spalding Grey had been found in New York's East River. Grey had been missing since January 10, 2004. Known for his monologues "Swimming to Cambodia and "It's a Slippery Slope", Grey had reportedly been troubled in the time leading up to his disappearance, and had previously attempted suicide.
