1934:
The Frank Capra/Clark Gable film It Happened One Night premieres in New York City. The film becomes the first to sweep the Oscars for picture, actor, actress, director and screenwriting. The feat has only been duplicated by 1974's One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. and by The Silence of the Lambs in 1992.
