This Day in Film History:
January 12
1905:
Tex Ritter, one of many singing cowboys of the '30s and '40s and father of John, is born in Murvaul, Texas.
2004:
The Walt Disney Co. closes its Orlando, Florida animation facility. The move reflected the prevailing trend away from hand-drawn animation and towards computer-generated animation. The move may or may not have been hastened by the underwhelming performance of some of the last hand-drawn animated features (e.g. Brother Bear)
