Position Staff In Brief
93/190 Max Braden I think this was the most watchable movie of the series even though the story was less familiar to me, and the end was very preachy.

C.S. Lewis clearly knew commercial viability better than Tolkien did. While Tolkien's Lord of the Rings consists of only three books (four if you include The Hobbit), Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia is a seven book series. Third on the list to be adapted is Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which will be the first not directed by Andrew Adamson.

Taking the reigns of the project is Michael Apted, who is not a stranger to Christian-themed films, having recently directed Amazing Grace. The entire main cast will be returning for the third film, including Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian. An additional character, cousin Eustace, will join the Pevensies in their voyages in Narnia.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader concerns Caspian's quest to find the seven Lost Lords of Narnia, which he promised Aslan he would do. The Pevensie children help him as they sail to several islands in Narnia on the Dawn Treader, are sold into slavery, and fight dragons. Numerous heavily-CGId battles will ensue, naturally. Along the way they learn lessons about greed, meet mermaids, and even visit an island where everyone's dreams come true, as long as they watch out for that mass of darkness near the back. An adventure is sure to be had. What a magical land is Hollywood - I mean, Narnia. (Tom Houseman/BOP)
