Popeye makes his first big-screen appearance alongside Betty Boop in Max Fleischer's cartoon Popeye the Sailor.

1963:

Beach Party, the first Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello movie, premieres.

1969:

Easy Rider premieres in the United States at a theater in the Upper East Side of New York City. Ladies who lunch presumably are appalled.
