Gregory Peck, Oscar winner for his role as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, is born Eldred Gregory Peck in La Jolla, California.

1926:

The King of the Bs, Roger Corman, is born in Dearborn, Michigan. Rumor has it the entire hospital stay cost less than $10.

1965:

Warner Bros' My Fair Lady wins eight Academy Awards. Among its honors are Best Cinematography, Actor, Director and Picture.
