Actress Linda Darnell, who starred in the film Forever Amber, which received a "condemned" rating from the League of Decency, is born Monetta Eloyse Darnell in Dallas, Texas. Despite its rating, Forever Amber sets an opening day record for New York's Roxy Theater.
