Elmo Lincoln appears in the title role in Tarzan of the Apes, screen debut for the character. Lincoln's Tarzan came 14 years before the more famous Johnny Weissmuller took on the role.

Donna Reed, who played Mary opposite Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life, is born Donna Belle Mullenger in Denison, Iowa.
1945:
Warner's cartoon Draftee Daffy, starring Daffy Duck and directed by Bob Clampett, is released.
