New movies are released into theaters every weekend. How do you decide which movie to watch? I’ll save you the hassle of researching every movie by comparing the new releases for each weekend in this column. Then, I’ll tell you which movie you should watch in the theaters.

For the weekend of February 13th, the new movies in wide release are Fifty Shades of Grey and Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Best Part of TrailerPROS: None
CONS: Borderline domestic abuse scenes (or so the news says)
PROS: Clever plot about teenager becoming elite spy

You may interpret this column for your own movie preferences. For example, if you are a kid, feel free to watch SpongeBob, which came out last weekend. However, if you are still on the fence, please read the following conclusions from the scientific data gathered in this column.

Conclusion 1: On paper, Kingsman: The Secret Service is the best movie to watch this weekend.
Conclusion 2: Each week I give a gold star to the movie with the best tagline. Since I couldn’t find a tagline from Kingsman, I guess Fifty Shades of Grey will win with “Mr. Grey will see you now.”
Conclusion 3: Dear Mr. Serkis, I tried my best to get you nominated for the Best Actor Calvins Award (your exclusion was the singular mistake from those awards this year). Please don’t take offense, you deserved to win. If you read my column, email BOP, and let’s do lunch. Sincerely, Curt David.
