Time Changer is the third film in a series based on The Omega Code, a novel which purported to be able to tell the future of the human race based on a numeric code supposedly hidden in the Bible.

In this outing, 19th-century Bible professor Russell Carlisle has written a new manuscript called The Changing Times. His book is about to receive a prestigious endorsement from the Grace Bible Seminary Board of Directors, until one of its members, Dr Norris Anderson, expresses concern over smoothing Professor Carlisle has written. Anderson believes the manuscript, if published, could create serious problems for future generations. Anderson then employs a secret time machine to send Carlisle 100 years into the future so that the professor can see first-hand what changes his manuscript has wrought.

Time Changer boasts quite a number of familiar faces in its cast, including the delightful Hal Linden and Mr Love Boat himself, Gavin MacLeod. While The Omega Code was likely considered a huge success for this type of film, it didn't draw that large an audience, even by limited-release standards. The second film in the trilogy, Megiddo: The Omega Code 2, drew even less of an audience, and both those films had slightly more star-power than this third film in the series. Still, one would expect this to do moderately well in the Bible Belt, and draw a few of the curious in addition to the hard-core Fundamentalist audience that welcomes this sort of thing.
