Co-writer/star Stephanie Bennett teams up with co-writer/director Henry Barrial to bring us this look at a woman trying to find who she really is.

The movie follows Los Angeles teacher Samantha (Bennett) in her quest to find herself. After a party one night, she decides that her long-term relationship with her boyfriend has become stale. She dumps him and moves out on her own to look for love and happiness. She decides that jumping from bed to bed will be the best method to use. Of course, this is no solution to her problem. She eventually hooks up with a sweet guy named Bobby who really likes her, but she ends up ruining this relationship as well.

The movie was filmed on a low budget and has a documentary look to it. Use of handheld cameras enhances the effect that we're watching someone struggling with her life. Also, much of the script was unwritten when the film started shooting. As the filming progressed, the next portion of the script was written with a sampling of improvised lines thrown in.

This film premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, and reviews have been very mixed. Some say the film is an insightful look into Samantha's life; others say she whines and complains too much and this grates on the audience rather quickly. Watch for this film when it comes to an independent film venue near you and see what you think. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
