On the Big Board
Position Staff In Brief
187/214 Max Braden Brody invokes his OC character decently, but plot improbabilities and lapses reveal this as Kasdan's first-time work.

Jon Kasdan comes from a family well-known in Hollywood circles. His father, Lawrence, is known for his direction on such films as The Big Chill, Grand Canyon and Wyatt Earp, and also wrote the screenplay for Raiders of the Lost Ark. Brother Jake Kasdan was involved with the television series Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared before making his feature debut on Orange County. Now Jon makes his own directorial debut with this project based on his own screenplay.

BOP favorite Adam Brody, who we first noticed in Gilmore Girls but is currently one of three good things about The O.C., will star as a young Los Angeles screenwriter named Brody. After suffering from a traumatic break-up, he heads to the suburbs of Michigan both to find time to recover and to care for an ailing grandmother. Once there, he strikes up a relationship with a mother and her daughter (Meg Ryan and Kristen Stewart) who live across the street. Complications obviously ensue. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
