Those hardest hit by fights among family members are frequently the children. Keeping Up with the Steins is a movie that will examine one boy's attempt to heal the wounds between loved ones. Lacking a better backdrop, he uses a sacred Jewish celebration of right of passage to attempt this gambit.

Keeping Up with the Steins tells the story of a pre-teen boy facing his 13th birthday. Frustrated by the strained relationship between his father and grandfather, the kid uses his Bar Mitzvah to force a reconciliation betwixt the two men. The rest of the family becomes swept up by the unfolding events from this manipulative but well-meaning idea.

Daryl Sabarra, last seen fighting Sylvester Stallone in Spy Kids 3-D, plays the key role here. The parts of father and grandfather are handled by Cupid himself, Jeremy Piven, and Mr. Happy Days, Garry Marshall. Jami Gertz plays Sabarra's mother while Daryl Hannah is cast as half of a May/December romance alongside Marshall. (David Mumpower/BOP)
