Harrison Ford and BOP-fave Josh Hartnett play LAPD homicide detectives investigating the murder of several rappers in the latest film from Ron Shelton and Revolution Studios.

The two officers (who each have sidejobs; Ford is a real-estate agent and Hartnet is a yoga instructor) put the pieces together and believe the killings may have been ordered by a rap mogul (played by Isaiah Washington) who is rumored to whack rappers who wanted out of their contracts with his label. The film has a large supporting cast, including Keith David, Lolita Davidovich, Bruce Greenwood, Master P, Robert Wagner and Lou Diamond Phillips.

Shelton, best known for his sports-related films Bull Durham and White Men Can't Jump, seems to be slowly moving into the crime genre, especially after his upcoming Dark Blue. He co-wrote the screenplay for Hollywood Homicide with former LAPD office Robert Souza.

Columbia is counting on the star power of Ford and Hartnett to bring in the viewers. According to an IGN review, the script is solid and funny and injects a little life into both main characters. The title sounds a little goofy, but with a strong trailer and good marketing, this could be one of the big hits of 2003. (Tim Briody/BOP)
