Position Staff In Brief
12/55 Reagen Sulewski Brilliantly captures that crucial moment between high school and college, highlighting the burden of potential. Much, much more than a teen sex film.
16/48 Les Winan Better than expected. Legitimately smart and funny. Too bad there wasn't any nudity from Elisha Cuthbert.
23/92 David Mumpower If I ever run for Congress, my platform will be that every girl next door is required to be a retired porn star with a heart of gold and a soul-stealing smile.
47/126 Kim Hollis Risky Business, part deux.
56/133 Dan Krovich Nice... but it's no Risky Business

I think this film’s story is summed up nicely in this letter we received:

Dear Box Office Prophets,

I’ve read your stories from readers for many years, but I
never thought it would happen to me.

My name is Matthew. I’m a pretty handsome guy. Some people
say I look like the actor Emile Hirsch. I am an ambitious
high school senior with strong political ambitions. Maybe
I’ll even be President of the United States someday. I was
walking around my neighborhood the other day and saw a new
girl moving in next door. I found out that her name is
Danielle. She’s beautiful and I think she looks a lot like
the actress from the TV series 24, Elisha Cuthbert.

I started talking to her and we began hanging out together.
I couldn’t believe such a knockout would be seen with me.
We soon fell in love, but she had a secret she hadn’t told
me. She used to be a porn star! Wow! However, this secret
has put a strain on our relationship and I don’t know if
we’ll make it. I hope I’ll have a good follow-up letter for
you soon.

Yours truly,

Matthew

Luke Greenfield decided to get some of his writing buddies together and make a movie based on this letter. Well, actually they thought of the idea all on their own. The movie finished shooting early in 2003 and should make its way to theaters all across the nation in the Spring of 2004. The producers have brought together some big up-and-coming cast members, including Cuthbert, Hirsch, Timothy Olyphant, and James Remar. It sounds like this romantic comedy should be a hit with teen audiences. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
