Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel (other credits include Sin City and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) stars in Post Grad as Ryden Malby, a recent college graduate who helicopters her way back home with her family. She's stuck in her life that seems to be going nowhere fast. She's in search of a job, and a guy, or at least maybe some clue about where her life may be going. Her wacky family includes Michael Keaton (The Dream Team, Jack Frost) as dad, Jane Lynch (The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Talladega Nights) as mom, and the multi-talented showbiz legend Carol Burnett as grandma. Very interesting. Not sure how many younger folks will know exactly who Burnett is, but it would be hard to top the casting for this family. Rounding out her life are Rodrigo Santoro (300, Che: Part One and Two) as the hot guy next door, and Zach Gilford as her best friend (and eventual love interest, perhaps, or would that be too formulaic?).

Some person you've likely never heard of directs the movie - Vicky Jenson. Bet you had no idea she was a co-director of the first Shrek movie (along with something named Andrew Adamson). Now you can impress your friends at the next cocktail party.

The movie has undergone several name changes along the way including Ticket to Ride and The Post Grad Survival Guide, before settling on the simpler title Post Grad. Whether that forebodes anything for the movie's quality I don't yet know, but it could at least be a sign that the suits are struggling trying to figure out the best way to sell the movie. The first trailer was rather middling, but admittedly, I am not in the target audience. Box office anywhere in the neighborhood of Sisterhood's $39 million domestic gross would be a win for this relatively low cost comedy with a budget of just about $15 million. (Michael Bentley/BOP)
