On the Big Board
|Charming stars make this blah rom-com watchable. (Barely)
|Krasinski is going to have to do something less charming and more funny and sharp if he doesn't want to be stuck doing Disney channel movies.
With the divorce rate being what it is today, it only makes sense that people should have to go through some sort of rigorous testing process before being given the okay to get married. If you have to work together to get to the finish line, there's quite a bit invested in staying in it for the long haul. Such is the premise behind License to Wed.
The Office's lovable John Krasinski plays a young man named Ben Murphy. Ben is engaged to a young lady named Sadie Jones, and lucky him - she happens to look an awful lot like Mandy Moore. Deeply in love and ready to begin their happily ever after story, Ben and Sadie make preparations to get married at St. Augustine's church, the place where Sadie's family worships. Everything seems to be going according to plan until the church's Reverend Frank (Robin Williams in full-on annoying mode) gets involved.
Reverend Frank is determined to put the couple through a very difficult series of tests before he will put the rubber stamp on their marriage license. They'll have to endure ridiculous classes, bizarre homework assignments and even out-and-out invasions of their privacy. The only question is whether they'll be able to stay together long enough to make the trip down the altar. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
