Actor Ethan Hawke makes his feature film directorial debut in this film with a large ensemble cast including Kris Kristofferson, Uma Thurman, Marisa Tomei, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Robert Sean Leonard.

The legendary Chelsea Hotel in New York is the setting for these five intertwined stories that take place during one day. Among the notables that have passed through this hotel's rooms are Mark Twain, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and Tennessee Williams. The hotel's current residents are looking for inspiration from the ghosts of the past. But will they find it?

The film had its world premiere as part of Director's Fortnight at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. It had its US premiere at the 2001 Woodstock Film Festival. This movie is another selection in the InDigEnt series of films, which are shot on digital media for a budget under $150,000. Director Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Robert Sean Leonard were the three stars of another InDigEnt film, Tape. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
