A movie that premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and won the cinematography award there (and a nominee for best first feature at the Independent Spirit Awards), Streets of Legend will finally be released into theaters courtesy of Lions Gate Films.

The film sets out to be a true portrait of life on the streets of Los Angeles, and has real-life street racers gunning to outrun cops. It was shot almost entirely in the evening with mini-cams attached to high performance vehicles. When viewers see a car going 140 mph, it really and truly is. There were no stunt drivers used in the process, and there's even a little bit of footage involving the California Highway Patrol.

Given the popularity of The Fast and the Furious, this little flick could attract an interesting demographic. Look for it to make some noise upon its limited release. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
