It's morning, and Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) is just getting ready to begin his day. Hearing his telephone ring, he realizes as he lays in his bed that he is almost unable to move - and his heart is barely beating. When he picks up the phone, he hears the voice of one Ricky Verona, a thug who tells Chev that he has been poisoned in his sleep and has only one hour to live.

Chev isn't exactly sweet and innocent, for what it's worth. A hit man who works for a major West Coast crime group, he has just had a normal job go wrong the night before. As events unfolded, he decided to let his target escape. Chev's plan is to simply quit his job as a wetworks operator and begin a new life with his girlfriend, Eve (Amy Smart).

Now, though, that idyllic hope is threatened. The only way Chev can keep the poison from stopping his heart is to keep his adrenaline flowing, so he must keep constantly moving. He goes on a rampage through the streets of Los Angeles, taking out anyone silly enough to get in his way. As his day proceeds, he'll have to rescue Eve from impending danger and somehow find an antidote to save his own life. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
