Jan, Jule and Peter are three rebellious young people who are united by their desire to change the world. To that end, Jan and Peter form a duo known as “The Edukators”. Shrouded in mystery, the pair works together in non-violent fashion to warn the rich that their time at the top may be coming to a close very soon.

The situation between the young friends becomes complicated when Jule, the vulnerable female of the trio, starts to fall for both young men. Jan and Peter begin to make reckless and dangerous decisions that eventually lead to an errant operation and a kidnapping that was never intended. Ultimately, the idealists of the title must come to realize the values of the generation that currently holds the power in their land and time.

Daniel Brühl, who gained notice in 2004 in the wonderful little film Goodbye Lenin!, stars in this film. With The Edukators and Ladies in Lavender receiving limited release in North America, he’s an actor on the rise and a young up and comer to keep an eye on. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
