Based on the real-life story of Thailand's famous transgender boxer, Parinya Charoenphol, Beautiful Boxer is an action/drama about an athlete who undergoes a sex change operation to become a woman.

The movie starts during Charoenphol's childhood, centering on a young man who believes he is a girl trapped in a boy's body. As a result, his life becomes a study of contradictions. He works hard to master the masculine, violent and lethal sport of Thai kickboxing to earn his living, but at the same time he uses those earnings to attain his goal of achieving total femininity.

Eventually, Charoenphol's career as a kickboxer made the athlete a sensation in Thailand. With expertise in the ancient Muaythai boxing moves and an ability to unnerve opponents simply by applying make-up in the dressing room, the heroine of this story is a unique study in taking a very individual road to follow one's own dreams.
