Daddy Day Care seemed like a generic concept. A pair of fathers found themselves unemployed. In order to pass the time and pay the bills, they started their own day care facility. No more how mundane the premise, the key was in the numbers. Daddy Day Care earned $145.1 million in worldwide receipts. That knowledge is enough to recognize the inevitability of a sequel - though none of the original players will return for it. Instead, we get Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. (take that, Eddie Murphy) in the primary role, with Fred Savage, who we came to love as young Kevin on the Wonder Years, as the movie's director.

Daddy Day Camp takes the original premise and updates it (?). Gooding's character is driven to further capitalize on the concepts's early success. He seeks to start a camp for kids. Presumably, a humorous series of events unfolds. We will give them the benefit of the doubt for now anyway, though we're not too sure why. (David Mumpower/BOP)
