The tiny fishing village of St. Marie-La-Mauderne has seen better days. The local economy has dried up, and the residents are all on welfare. The town's last chance is to convince a factory to move in bringing with it new jobs. One of the things they're missing that the factory requires is a town doctor, so the townspeople concoct an elaborate ruse to try to convince a big city doctor to set up shop in the village.

Seducing Doctor Lewis falls into the indie tradition of underdogs scheming to help themselves out of financial straits. Films like The Full Monty and Waking Ned Devine have previously mined that territory successfully in the past. Seducing Doctor Lewis has already enjoyed a successful release in Canada and an audience pleasing run on the festival circuit. (Calvin Trager/BOP)
