It's too bad a cool opening sequence and intriguing premise were undone by a crappy movie. Remember when Nicolas Cage cared? |

An intriguing story is undone by Nic Cage's thespianism. |
Seeking to return to the halycon days of Face/Off, Nicolas Cage is again looking to play the bad guy. With Lords of War, director Andrew Niccol (from the instantly forgettable S1m0ne) has afforded Cage that opportunity.
In the movie, Cage portrays a conflicted arms dealer. One of the most successful and dangerous man in his profession, the man has recently begun to wage war against a new enemy: himself. See? Face/Off! The weaponist has come to suffer pangs of conscience about his trade. He is forced to decide if he can leave behind the glamorous, thrill-a-minute lifestyle in order to live a more normal life. (David Mumpower/BOP)
