Welcome to leg 2 of TAR, more Judeo-Christian than last week. When we last left the ten remaining teams they were at the Great Wall of China at the first pit stop. Tyler & James leave first at 9:04 p.m., ripping the clue that informs the team they must bus/train their way to Outer Mongolia, where they are to find a temple in the capital city. The models interview about how they appreciate this all the more because they are clean and sober. I have a feeling we're going to hear the C/S Appreciation speech again. And again. And again. They sign up for the first bus leaving at midnight. Duke & Lauren leave next and Duke tries to rehabilitate himself by assuring us he's not homophobic – he can accept gays and lesbians as long as they are not his children. They too are on the first bus, as are Peter & Sarah, Dustin & Kandice and Rob & Kimberly.

Jamie & Kellie leave the pit stop at 9:56 p.m., a mere five minutes behind Rob & Kimberly, but are shut out of the first bus and instead must board bus two, which leaves at 2:00 a.m. The Cho brothers are next, followed by Tom & Terry. Lyn & Karlyn and David & Mary also head off and land on bus number two. A note on David & Mary's outfits here: they are wearing matching kelly green bandanas on their heads, with Mary clad in a t-shirt and Capri pants in similar, but not exactly the same, shades of green. Clothes should not be made in any of these colors, and yet Mary has decided to wear them all at the same time. More remarkably, she thought it was a good idea to take these pieces despite the limited space in her backpack. We'll be seeing the ensemble again, people. It's not going to get any prettier. On a nice David & Mary note, Mary comments that she never had the opportunity to meet any Asians or homosexuals before, and to her amazement, she likes them. It's sweet, in a naïve sort of way. I, on the other hand, am not liking Tom & Terry quite as much, as they cheerlead with Kellie and Jamie. Bus number one leaves, with everyone looking ready to race. The teams on bus number two decide to have an impromptu dance party in the parking lot.

Any time advantage gained by being on bus number one is erased when all the teams are bunched onto the same train to Outer Mongolia. Trying to secretly find another train, the beauty queens, in their words, "conspicuously" [sic] go off to ask a travel agent for help. They are busted by Tyler & James. Next time, they should probably inconspicuously go off for help. While waiting for the train, Peter interviews that he and Sarah are going to use Sarah's disability to their advantage. This interview is played over a scene where Peter is trying to hustle some money from locals who are staring at Sarah's prosthetic leg. Peter proposes that if she runs up and down the street, the locals will pay up. Sarah agrees, reluctantly to my eyes. Thankfully, none of the locals pay up. Sarah incredibly says "They pay money at the zoo, though." What!?! And let me state for the record that I find Peter to be a complete ass.

On the train, Tyler gives C/S Appreciation speech #2. The teams take a frantic cab ride to the temple, with Jamie & Kellie cheer clapping their way to the lead. Tom & Terry and Kimberly & Rob join them to watch a ceremony at the temple and they receive the next clue, which requires them to drive themselves in an old Russian-made jeep type vehicle to the town of Terelj, where they are to find a river bed. At the river bed there will be horses which they are to ride two miles to their next clue. Duke & Lauren, Sarah & Peter, Dustin & Kandice and David & Mary are the next teams through the temple. Meanwhile, the models' cab driver takes them to the wrong temple.

The teams on their way to Terelj are all in search of directions and are all butchering the pronunciation of the town's name in the process. Dustin & Kandice manage to find a Scottish or Irish couple who gives them directions. David & Mary convince a fairly scary looking Mongolian to drive with them. Kimberly & Rob don't stop and ask for directions; Rob just divines the way to go. When Kimberly questions his directions, his response is "That's why I'm on the race with you, honey." Huh? She just says "okay." A little later, Rob admits Kimberly was right and he screwed up. Kellie & Jamie are asking for directions, and you can tell by the awesome musical score accompanying this scene that they are very, very confused.

The final teams get to the temple and get their clue. Lyn & Karlyn find an American to drive with them part of the way. Once he gets out of the vehicle, they promptly get lost. Terry stops at a toll booth and pantomimes riding a horse. Amazingly, he gets directions. Kellie & Jamie are still lost. Tyler & James get a flat and are forced to pull over to change it. Unfortunately, they cannot get their jack to work. Rob & Kimberly stop to help, but when another team approaches, they drive off. They are also passed by Lyn & Karlyn who obnoxiously yell "peace out" as they do. In other car troubles, Kellie & Jamie's car stalls out and Kellie can't get it started. Tyler & James luck out when a local changes their tire for them (using their jack, which apparently was not broken). Kellie & Jamie finally get the car started.

Peter & Sarah are first to the horses, followed by the beauty queens. As they approach the river bank, David & Mary get stuck in some serious mud, to the point where they are entitled to a replacement vehicle. Four teams pass them while they sit waiting.

Now all of the teams except Kellie & Jamie, Tyler & James and David & Mary are on their horses. Kimberly is worried that the horse can sense her fear of it. Rob assures her that they can't. Of course, Kimberly is thrown from her horse when a branch falls in front of her. She gets pretty emotional while her horse is being retrieved by the handler. All Rob does is sit on his horse, impervious, stating, "this is crazy, dude." To which I say, "Way to be supportive, dude." One of the beauty queens falls off her horse and is dragged behind it. They don't seem to be phased by this, to their credit.

Peter & Sarah get to the clue box first and it's a detour. The choice is "tear it down" or "fill it up." In the first task the teams must disassemble a fairly intricate looking tent and pack it correctly. Once packed, they must place it on a camel's back. In "fill it up" the teams must lead a cart pulled by a hangai (a yak) to a riverbank. There they must fill up four water jugs and bring those jugs back to the camp to fill a barrel. Peter & Sarah decide to tear it down. First, Peter displays more ass-like tendencies in this task, instructing Sarah to stop talking to herself, which she is doing to keep herself organized. When it becomes apparent to Peter that he can't do the knots on the pack correctly, he decides they need to change tasks. As Sarah expresses the fact she doesn't like quitting, Peter screams "SARAH" much in the way I talk to my dog when he gets off leash. In this whole sequence he is so demeaning. I shall now call him Ass.

Dustin & Kandice get their detour clue next and chose the water task. Duke & Lauren and Karlyn & Lyn decide to pack. All of the teams in the middle choose to fill it up. Sarah & Ass join the water gathering crowd and then, because karma does exist, their yak bolts. Twice. Ass takes this opportunity to yell at Sarah again. They then decided to go BACK to packing. Unfortunately, Ass isn't the only yeller, with Rob totally going off on Kimberly as she attempts to steer her yak. She loses it. Kim, babe, really this should answer your questions about going to the next level.

Dustin & Kandice are done with the detour first and get their clue, but because they have lost one of the helmets needed to ride their horse they can't leave. Duke & Lauren finish packing, get the clue and actually leave first. According to Phil, the teams must ride their horses back to their jeeps, then drive 47 miles to the Hotel Mongolia where they will get their next clue. In other ill-advised task-changing, Karlyn & Lyn abandon packing and go off to fill it up. The Chos finish with the water task, but they have lost a helmet too. They find it fairly quickly and are off. Kellie & Jamie finally start their detour, and they chose to pack it up. Meanwhile, Dustin & Kandice are wandering aimlessly, still without the helmet. They don't seem to be looking for it, however, and their horse handler finally finds it for them. Team by team leaves, and soon only Kellie & Jamie and Karlyn & Lyn are left. In an incredible coincidence, neither of their cars will start. Kellie & Jamie get help first and they leave ahead of Karlyn & Lyn. On the road, Erwin & Godwin are the fifth team to have car trouble when their car breaks down, and they end up being passed by four teams. A local finally gets the car started for them and they are off.

The models and Ass & Sarah get to the next clue box and find a roadblock. The task is to shoot a flaming arrow 160 feet to a target which will then ignite. Once done, the teams are to proceed to the pit stop. Peter & Tyler take the task for their teams, with the Ass finishing first. Ass & Sarah are Team # 1. To her credit, Sarah seems to realize that Ass is an ass, as evidenced by her interview where she states she's making note of his behavior. The models are Team #2.

The cheerleaders are again lost and turn around when they think they are traveling in the wrong direction. Despite passing Karlyn & Lyn going in the opposite direction, they continue. The remaining teams are all at the roadblock now.

Lauren shoots for her team and she and her dad are Team #3. Once through the roadblock, Tom & Terry approach the mat and Terry says to Phil, "talk to us." In an awesome Brooklyn accent matching Terry's, Phil says, "I'll talk to ya; you're Team #4." Hee! Dustin & Kandice are Team #5. Rob & Kimberly are "babe"-ing each other through Kimberly's shooting attempts, eventually finishing as Team #6. David & Mary are Team #7. Erwin & Godwin are Team #8.

Finally arriving at Hotel Mongolia are Karlyn & Lyn, which means that Kellie & Jamie traveled in the wrong direction and are significantly behind. Lyn finishes the task for the team and they are Team #9. Once the cheerleaders arrive, Kellie shoots for her team and she seems to be at it for a long, long time. Kellie, exhausted and defeated, gives up and they are eliminated.
