Shifting alliances over the past few weeks led to the elimination of Scot, Debbie and Julia. I’m not particularly sorry to see any of them go, but at the same time I’m not particularly keen on any of the remaining players this season. Bring on season 33!

Last episode Tai was keen to vote out Michele, who he saw as his biggest threat, but the rest of his “alliance” decided they didn’t want to spend any more time with Jason/Kyle and his collection of awful tattoos. Whether it was a pair of muskets crossed over an eagle, the word “filthy” or a blue blob that could be the Statue of Liberty’s torch or a feather duster, I can’t imagine there was a single tattoo where the artist wasn’t saying “Are you really sure that’s what you want? Then sign this liability waiver please!” Anyway, Jason was sent off to Ponderosa, where hopefully there was a bottle of Blue Label waiting for him and not a fake one with ‘Blue Label’ written in cursive script like it is across Jason’s collar. Why not have "Coca-Cola" written in Comic Sans?

Here are the power rankings for this week:

1. Cydney

Cydney is the player making everyone else tread on eggshells, because she doesn’t like being told what to do and will “blow up the game” if she wants. So when she doesn’t like Tai telling her to vote for Michele, she turns around and tells Michele about the scheme and suddenly everyone has to vote for Jason to avoid a big fight. Cydney’s basically a nicer version of Abi Maria.

2. Tai

While I was gone, Tai seems to have betrayed everyone that he hadn’t already betrayed and he seems to be trying to make up for it through repeated kisses after challenge wins. Tai’s alliance seems to be with Aubry and Joe, though they both went against him at the last Tribal Council, and the other two players seem to think Tai is trying to intimidate them. Even though Tai squandered his extra vote, he still has an immunity idol and is looking more like someone others will want to sit next to at the end of the game.

3. Aubry

Aubry had yet another bout of mental exhaustion last week, which presumably was the cause of making bad jokes about the chicken such as “foul play.” She’s trying to differentiate herself from Tai by pointing out that while they are allied, they have different styles. Aubry is the most thoughtful player left in the game, and that means she is also the one that everyone else needs to be rid of before the final.

4. Michele

Michele voted out her biggest ally in the game to show her loyalty, and I’m sure that display of loyalty will give her Julia’s vote if she makes it to the end. Tai believes that Michele is his biggest threat in the end-game, because she hasn’t annoyed anyone on the jury. Of course I'm not sure that Michele has especially impressed anyone on the jury, but it's the end of the season, and any excuse will do.

5. Joe

Joe is basically being dragged to the finish line at this point.

Those are the power rankings for this week. Next time on Survivor, instead of being at odds, Tai and Michele are doing massages! And according to the voiceover that is begging us to watch the episode, just when people think things are safe, everything changes!
