I wonder where Minions shop for clothes. And glasses.

Universal’s dominance of the box office, both domestically and globally, continued this weekend as they unleashed Minions on the few parts of the world who had not already been exposed. With more territories to play in, the Despicable Me spinoff took complete control with a commanding take of $124.3 million. That brings its overseas total to $280.5 million, almost equaling the entire international haul of the first Despicable Me, which earned $291.6 million back in 2010. It still has a way to go to equal the $602.7 million of Despicable Me 2, but it’s an outside possibility at least.

Terminator Genisys, which was last week’s champion, gets displaced this week but still stands up respectably. The baffling remake/reboot earned $47.3 million for a new international total of $156.1 million, or more than double what the film has earned domestically. Those ratios will probably grow as the film continues to flame out in the U.S., though it doesn’t look like they’ll become unbalanced enough to make more super-expensive Terminator films viable for Paramount.

Third this week is the Chinese movie Forever Young, not to be confused with the weird early-‘90s Mel Gibson movie of the same name. The coming-of-age movie earned an impressive $38 million.

We stay in China for the number four film this week, the aptly title Tiny Times 4.0. The fourth film in a wildly successful series of comedic romances, Tiny Times 4.0 earned $36 million over the weekend has a total of $54 million to date.

Jurassic World recedes a little this weekend with $21.7 million, though the once dominant film is hardly hurting as it rounds out the top five. It has a new overseas total of $875.5 million and a global total of $1.46 billion, placing it fifth all time. It should be able to overtake both Furious 7 ($1.511 billion) and The Avengers ($1.518) in the next few weeks.

Inside Out continues its slow roll out with a weekend of $19.1 million and a new total of $151.8 million. Considering that the film won’t hit a lot of big markets until August, that is a pretty solid result so far.

Ted 2, which opened to a large shrug in the U.S. a few weeks ago, is similarly struggling to find purchase internationally. The foul-mouthed bear added $12.4 million for a new total of $53 million, which is actually not that bad for an American comedy, but looks pretty anemic compared to the $330.5 million the first film pulled in three years ago.

Magic Mike XXL is eighth this weekend with $10.3 million. The sequel to the 2012 hit has so far earned $20.1 million internationally, which compares pretty favorably to the $53.5 million the first earned. It may not be able to match that, but the relatively cheap cost will ensure that even a modest performance will reap big benefits.

Ninth this week is Monkey King: Hero is Back, the latest adaptation of the venerable Chinese legend. It brought in $10 million and has a total to date of $11.5 million.

Finally this week we have Northern Limit Line, the South Korean drama which has been a decent-sized hit there. It added $6.6 million for a new total of $32 million.
