For people who'd like to know what Melissa Leo's been up to since her days on Homicide: Life on the Street: Frozen River

Appearing on a dozen top-ten lists from the nation's critics and earning two nods at the Academy's upcoming Oscar ceremony, Frozen River proved its Grand Jury Prize win at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival wasn't a fluke. The movie, which follows two women (Melissa Leo and Misty Upham) who make ends meet by smuggling illegals across the Canadian/U.S. border, marks Courtney Hunt's directing debut.

Disc includes: Audio commentary

For people who can't believe that "cellar door" is the most beautiful phrase in the English language: Donnie Darko [Blu-ray]

Finally, I end the week on a high note: Donnie Darko is available on Blu-ray. The 2001 psychological thriller, which barely crossed $500,000 during its original theater run, built a loyal fan base following its release on DVD and VHS the subsequent year. As proof, a theater in New York's East Village began midnight showings of the film around the same time. The screening stretch continued for more than two years.

The movie stars a young Jake Gyllenhaal as the titular character, a troubled teenager who does what every good boy would do when a giant-sized bunny comes knocking at the door. Donnie follows him outside. Though the action prevents the kid from being home at the time that a jet engine crashes into his bedroom – phew! – the bunny tells him that the world will end in 28 days. Shucks.

Other cast mates include Jake's sister, Maggie, Jena Malone, Mary McDonnell, Drew Barrymore, Noah Wyle and Patrick Swayze. Only Daveigh Chase, who plays Donnie's sister, Sam, will reprise her role for the direct-to-DVD sequel, S. Darko, due out in late April.

Disc includes: Theatrical cut and director's cut of the movie, audio commentary, Behind-the-Scenes featurette, #1 Fan: A Darkomentary documentary, Storyboard-to-Screen featurette, They Made Me Do It featurette
