Pete Kilmer has been in the comics retail industry for ten years as a member of Downtown Comics in Indianapolis. Sales of comics in Sept were up 2% overall, stopping a seven month decline in sales. That's great news for comic shops, but with the economy on shaky ground we still need a few more months like that to see if our industry *is* really as recession proof as a lot of people are hoping for.
It's a pretty solid week for books. I suspect Kim Hollis is looking forward to the Evil Dead trade paperback. Jim Butchers Dresden Files Vol 1. Hardcover hits stores on Wed, and I expect that to sell out. And the deluxe Hardcover of Y: The Last Man Vol. 1 hits as well.

It feels like it's been awhile since the last Angel: After the Fall, so I'm very pleased to see it on this week's list. Beyond that, there's some good-looking Secret Invasion stuff, a second installment of the Army of Darkness vs. Xena series and as Pete mentions, the Evil Dead trade. For some reason, it was always really hard to get my hands on the comics in that series, and I never got to read the final one, so I'll be picking this up at some point.
