  • Grandson of urban planner and real estate developer James Rouse (pioneer of indoor shopping malls, planned communities, and festival marketplaces such as Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston and Harborplace in Baltimore)
  • Majored in history, not drama, at Yale
  • His directorial debut, Keeping the Faith, was written by Stuart Blumberg, a college friend from Yale
  • Can't actually grow facial hair, as was made obvious by the terrible mustache in The Italian Job
