Day-Lewis, Del Toro interested in period piece
The long-gestating period piece, Silence, is making some major headway. Helmer Martin Scorsese has attracted the attention of Daniel Day-Lewis, Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal to star in the movie, based on the Shusaku Endo novel of the same name. Adapted by Jay Cocks, the project is about two Jesuit priests who face violence and persecution for spreading the gospel in the 17th century. Scorsese has had the project on his radar for more than 10 years.
