Producer purchases Kemba Smith's life rights
Stomp the Yard producer Will Packer is in need of on- and off-screen talent after picking up the rights to the true story of Kemba Smith, who was granted clemency by President Clinton after serving 25 percent of her 24-year sentence for conspiracy to sell crack cocaine. The project, which is slated to begin production in 2009, will be produced through Packer's Rainforest Films studio.
