Stars Battle on Big Screen
The television remake trend continues with one of the oddest choices yet. That's right, Battle of the Network Stars is soon to be headed to a theater near you. Paramount is preparing the project and has hired Etan Cohen to write the screenplay. The story will center around a network executive who has become disgraced in the business. He has to attempt to find respectability by winning the contest. The original show aired in the 1970s, with teams of stars from various series battling each other in events like Simon Says, swimming, running, and so forth. Howard Cosell announced the procedings as if the show was a regular sporting event.
