Shimizu gets a Parasyte
Takashi Shimizu, who directed the Japanese film Ju-On on its English-language remake The Grudge, will helm Parasyte for New Line Cinema. The movie is based on a manga series by Hitosi Iwaaki that has been adapted by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Matt Drake then wrote an additional rewrite. In the science fiction tale, alien spores land on earth, taking over human bodies. Still one young man is able to locate his own parasite, finding it in his left arm. Since he has isolated the creature, he becomes part human and part alien. He is the planet's only protection from the invasion. The film will combine live-action and CGI in order to have a realistic alien landscape.
