Beattie looking to Spy
Stuart Beattie, who recently signed to write a screenplay for Baz Luhrmann as well, has agreed to take a shot at the script for Spy Hunter, the adaptation of the videogame with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson set to star. Beattie, who wrote the script for last year's Collateral, takes over for other writers whose screenplays are looking to be discarded, including Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. John Woo is directing the Universal project, which the studio is hoping to install as a tentpole release in 2006.
