Dimension film out of the running for 2008 Oscars
Dimension bumped the release of the Viggo Mortensen-starrer The Road out of 2008 and into either February or March of 2009. The shift kicks the film out of contention for 2008 Oscars, which are only available to films released on or before December 31st. The Weinstein Company declined to say why the release date was postponed.

Aussie goes on The Road
Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee (Romulus, My Father) will play the son of Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises) in The Road, a film adaptation based on the 2005 novel by Cormac McCarthy. The Road, written by Joe Penhall (The Undertaker), is about a father and son who take a journey across the United States following a cataclysmic event. To be directed by John Hillcoat (The Proposition), the adaptation also stars Charlize Theron (In the Valley of Elah).
