Paramount pushes back two movie releases

Fact-based The Soloist is moving again, this time from March 13, 2009 to April 24, 2009. The Jamie Foxx-Robert Downey Jr. flick was originally scheduled to appear in theaters on Nov. 21 of this year. With its new release date, the movie will now open one week before the official start of the summer box office season. Additionally, the Paul Rudd comedy I Love You, Man got bumped from Jan. 16, 2009 to March 20, 2009.

Paramount bumps movie release dates

Paramount delayed the releases of two movies. The Solist, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx, was bumped from November 21st to March 21, 2009. And Defiance, starring James Bond's Daniel Craig, went from December 12th to December 31st.

Harris partners with Downey Jr.

Rachael Harris (ABC's Notes from the Underbelly) joined the cast of The Soloist, a musical drama based on a true story from director Joe Wright (Atonement) and writer Susannah Grant (Erin Brokovich). Harris will play the co-worker of Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez (Robert Downey Jr.), who wrote articles in 2005 about Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx), a homeless man who dreams to play at Los Angeles' Disney Hall. Catherine Keener (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) also stars.
