Sequel retains more actors from first film
Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakam and Efren Ramirez will reprise their roles in Crank: High Voltage, the series about hit man Chev Chelios (Jason Statham), his girlfriend (Smart), his concerned doctor (Yoakam) and the cross-dresser who loves him (Ramirez). Also joining the cast is Bai Ling (Love Ranch) as a call girl who obsessively pursues Chelios for romance.

Sony picks up rights to duo of sequels
Sony Pictures nabbed overseas rights to The Punisher 2: War Zone and Crank 2: High Voltage, both upcoming sequels from Lionsgate. In Punisher 2, Ray Stevenson takes over for actor Thomas Jane as lead character Frank Castle, a former FBI agent who avenges the acts of violent criminals. In Crank 2, Jason Statham will reprise his role as hitman Chev Chelios.

Statham Cranks it up
A sequel to the 2006 film Crank is in the works, and star Jason Statham will be back to reprise his role as hitman Chev Chelios. In the franchise's second offering, named Crank 2: High Voltage, Chelios faces off against a villain who replaces his nearly indestructible heart with one that is battery-powered. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, creators of the first film, will write and direct the sequel.
