New Line Adapting Sparks Novel
New Line Cinema has bought the film rights to Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel Dear John and has set Channing Tatum (Step Up) to star. In the book, a solider falls in love with a beautiful but conservative college student while home on leave. They commit to get married, but distance and time apart make things difficult. New Line previously had a hit with another Sparks novel, The Notebook.
