New Line to take a Journey
New Line Cinema will join up with Walden Media to create modern-day update of the Jules Verne classic novel Journey to the Center of the Earth. They'll call it Journey 3-D, and will have Eric Brevig at the helm. D.V. DeVincentis will handle scripting duties. The story revolves around a teenager and his scientist father as they stumble on an ancient artifact. They try to solve a riddle hidden within it, and find it taking them to an unknown world with strange new creatures. The movie will be a live-action project, with many of the creatures and effects being handled via CGI.
