Strathairn gets a Fracture
David Strathairn, who was nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award today, has agreed to star in Fracture for New Line Cinema. Gregory Hoblit is directing from a script by Daniel Pyne and Glenn Gers. Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins are already aboard the project. Gosling plays a district attorney who is involved in a cat-and-mouse game with a man (Hopkins) who tried to kill his wife, but was released for technical reasons. Strathairn will play Gosling's boss.

New Line is Fractured
New Line Cinema is set to go into production on Fracture, a movie that will star Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling. Gregory Hoblit, who previously helmed such stuff as Primal Fear and Frequency, will direct from a screenplay by Glenn Gers. The movie will have Gosling portraying a young attorney who is attempting to convict Hopkins' character of a murder he claims he did not commit.
