Boll keeps at it

BOP nemesis Uwe Boll has created his own distribution company, Event Film, and will distribute In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale via that arm. The movie will be split into two parts and released on November 3, 2006 and December 1, 2006. Boll has said that the Dungeon Siege film will be a massive, epic adventure and split the release in half so as to make it easier on exhibitors who might otherwise balk at a long running time.

Uwe Boll is at it again

Uwe Boll is creating a $60 million adaptation of the sword and sorcerers video game Dungeon Siege, and somehow, he's been able to attract a decent cast. Jason Statham (The Transporter) will play the hero in the film, Farmer, and Sobieski will portray Muriella, the daughter of the sorcerer Merrick. That sorcerer will be played by John Rhys Davies, who played Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Other cast members include Ron "Hellboy" Perlman as Norick, a friend of Farmer's, Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo) as Duke Fallow, Burt Reynolds as King Konreid, and Kristanna Loken of Boll's upcoming BloodRayne as Elora, an enchanted tree creature. The good news here is that action director/choreographer Tony Ching (House of Flying Daggers, Hero) will film the action sequences. The screenplay was written by Doug Taylor, David S. Freeman and Glenn Benest. Boll is hoping the movie will see theatrical release in late summer of 2006.
