Dempsey is Enchanted

Patrick Dempsey is in talks to join the Walt Disney Co. film Enchanted. If he can work it into his schedule, he'll star alongside Amy Adams, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden and Idina Menzel in the story of a princess who is banished from her kingdom of Andalasia to present-day New York City. Andalasia will be animated, while New York City will be live-action. Dempsey would play a working single father in New York.

Sarandon is Enchanted

Susan Sarandon has signed on to star as a wicked queen in Walt Disney Pictures' Enchanted. Her character, Queen Narissa, is the antagonist of a star-crossed princess and prince (Amy Adams and James Marsden). The film is directed by Kevin Lima and will combine live action and animation. The screenplay was written by Bill Kelly.

Marsden is Enchanted

James Marsden (Cyclops in the X-Men films) has joined the cast of Disney's Enchanted. He'll play a prince in the film, which stars Amy Adams as a princess-in-waiting who is banished by an evil queen from her fantasy home land to modern day New York City. She must try to navigate the city on her own, finding true love as she does so. The movie will combine elements of CGI animation and live action.

Disney gets Enchanted princess

Disney has hired Amy Adams to play a princess in Enchanted, a combination CGI/live action film. In the romantic fairy tale, she'll play a princess-in-waiting who has been banished by the evil queen of Andalasia (a cartoon world) to modern day New York City. While there, she tries to learn about big city life, true love, and herself. Kevin Lima is directing the film from a screenplay by Bill Kelly.

Disney chooses director for Enchanted

Kevin Lima, who previously directed 102 Dalmatians, has been tapped to helm the live action/CGI film Enchanted for Walt Disney Pictures. Based on an original script by Bill Kelly that has gone through numerous rewrites over the years, the movie centers on a wannabe princess who is banished from her animated world of Andalasia to a place where there is no true love - New York City. She has to rescue both herself and her heart's desire while there. Coming full circle, Kelly will give the screenplay its final polish.
