Alba considers The Eye

Jessica Alba is in talks to star in a U.S. adaptation of the Hong Kong horror film The Eye, which was directed by Oxide and Danny Pang. She would star for French directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud, who previously helmed the thriller Ils. It would be their first U.S. project. The Eye centers around an eye transplant recipient who sees disturbing images in the mirror and in other places that make her determined to find out what happened to the eye's previous owner.

Zellweger looks at The Eye

Renee Zellweger has signed with Paramount Pictures to star in the U.S. remake of the Pang Brothers' Thai thriller The Eye. Hideo Nakata will direct the psychological thriller about a woman who regains her eyesight, but when that happens she gets much more than she had bargained for. Nakata directed the original Japanese Ringu.

Nakata to direct U.S. version of The Eye

Hideo Nakata, who recently helmed the U.S. version of The Ring Two, has signed on to direct The Eye, an adaptation of the Pang brothers' Thai horror film. In addition to directing The Ring Two, Nakata was also at the helm of the Japanese versions of the first two Ringu films and the Japanese Dark Water. He's also said that he's open to directing another installment of The Ring franchise. The Eye will be adapted by Paramount Pictures and Cruise/Wagner Productions.
