Paramount sees Stardust

Paramount Pictures is in final talks with Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) to direct and produce his own adaptation of the Neil Gaiman adult fairy tale Stardust. Vaughn wrote the script with Jane Goldman. The novel was first published in 1997 and is set in an English countryside where mortal humans and magical types live together. A young man is given to believe that he can retrieve a fallen star by going into a magical realm with witches, goblins, gnomes, talking animals and evil trees.

Neil Gaiman's Stardust headed for big screen

Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) has optioned the rights to Neil Gaiman's novel Stardust, the story of a half-fairy boy who is willing to do anything to win the love of his heart's desire, the cold-hearted but beautiful Victoria.
