Hawke is a Daybreaker
Ethan Hawke will star for Lionsgate in their futuristic vampire film Daybreakers. The movie will be written and directed by Peter and Michael Spierig, the Australian horror gurus who previously worked on the film Undead. The great Weta Workshop will handle visual effects. Hawke will play a researcher who is working in the year 2017. At this point in the future, a plague has caused most of the world's population to transform into vampires. Humans are nearing extinction, and vampires are forced to farm humans or find a blood substitute before it's too late.

Lions Gate gets some Daybreakers
Lions Gate has acquired the horror spec script Daybreakers, written and to be directed by Australian filmmaking twins Peter and Michael Spierig. The film explores a future where the world has been conquered by vampires, leaving only a small band of humans to try to save mankind.
