The Fog gets more cast

Selma Blair, DeRay Davis and Rade Serbedzija have joined the cast of Revolution Studios' The Fog, where they'll star alongside Tom Welling and Maggie Grace. The movie is a remake of the classic John Carpenter horror thriller. Rupert Wainwright is directing the film from a screenplay by Cooper Lane. Blair will play the role originally portrayed by Adrienne Barbeau, who was a lighthouse owner and a DJ. Davis will play a friend of Wellings' character, while Serbedzija will be a priest.

Welling and Grace sign on for The Fog

Smallville's Tom Welling and Maggie Grace of the new hit series Lost are set to star in the remake of the classic John Carpenter horror film The Fog for Revolution Studios. Rupert Wainwright will direct from a screenplay by Cooper Layne. The story revolves around an implicit fear of the dark. One hundred years in the past, a horrible shipwreck occurs in California in the midst of a strange, creepy fog. Fast forward to modern times, and the ghosts of the sailors have arisen to exact revenge. Welling will portray a local boat owner, and Grace will star as a college girl who is home for the summer.

Director set for The Fog

Revolution Studios has hired director Rupert Wainwright to direct the horror film The Fog, a remake of the John Carpenter film that was made for $1 million in 1980. The screenplay was written by Cooper Layne. The director was chosen due to his vision for the film, as his take will involve fleshing out a storyline that was only verbally addressed in the original.

Revolution Studios in a Fog

Revolution Studios has picked up the rights to remake the 1980 John Carpenter film The Fog. Cooper Lane (The Core, The Emperor's Club) will write the screenplay. The original film was set in Northern California, where the coastline is covered in a thick fog. One hundred years earlier, a similar fog had taken over the area, resulting in a shipwreck that drowned all the sailors aboard. With this new fog, they return with anger in their hearts.
