Davis believes Every Word Is True

Hope Davis has signed to portray socialite Slim Keith in the Warner Independent Pictures Truman Capote biopic Every Word Is True. She replaces Michelle Pfeiffer. Douglas McGrath wrote and directs the film, which is based on George Plimpton's 1997 oral biography Truman Capote: In Which Various Friends, Enemies, Acquaintances and Detractors Recall His Turbulent Career. The movie centers primarily around the time when Capote was researching his book In Cold Blood, during which time he developed a close relationship with the convicted murderers Dick Hickock and Perry Smith. Tobey Jones portrays Capote, and Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Sigourney Weaver also star.

Jeremy Renner, Ashley Judd, Sigourney Weaver and Alan Cumming have joined the cast of Every Word Is True, a biopic of author Truman Capote. They'll star alongside Toby Jones, Mark Ruffalo, Sandra Bullock and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Ruffalo is True

Mark Ruffalo has joined the cast of the Truman Capote biopic Every Word Is True. Ruffalo will play mass murderer Perry Smith, a role that was originally to have been portrayed by Mark Wahlberg. Other cast members include Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow and Toby Jones. The film is being directed by Doug McGrath.

Wahlberg off Every Word Is True

Mark Wahlberg has left the Truman Capote biopic Every Word Is True, which centers around the era in which Capote wrote In Cold Blood. Wahlberg had been set to play Perry Smith, one of the killers whose story is told in In Cold Blood, and a man with whom Capote developed a rather peculiar relationship.

Paltrow signs on for Every Word Is True

Gwyneth Paltrow has joined the cast of the Warner Independent Pictures Truman Capote biopic Every Word Is True. She will play Peggy Lee. Other cast members include Mark Wahlberg, who is playing Perry Smith, one of the two killers from In Cold Blood, Sandra Bullock as author Harper Lee, and Toby Jones as Truman Capote. Also recently signed is Sigourney Weaver as one of Capote's socialite confidantes. The film is set to start production on January 1, 2005 and is being directed by Doug McGrath from his own screenplay. The movie centers around Capote's unusual relationship with the subjects of his aforementioned book, In Cold Blood. While Dick Hickock and Perry Smith awaited their execution on death row, the writer developed a sort of odd friendship with the pair, especially Smith.

Wahlberg and Bullock know Every Word Is True

Mark Wahlberg has signed on to portray one of the two killers from Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. Perry Smith, the more disturbing of the two, actually developed a friendly relationship with the author, which was depicted in the 1997 George Plimpton oral biography Truman Capote: In Which Various Friends, Enemies, Acquaintances and Detractors Recall His Turbulent Career. Along with Wahlberg as Smith, Sandra Bullock is also in talks to play To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper Lee in the biopic. The film was written by Doug McGrath, who will also direct for Warner Independent Pictures. British stage actor (the voice of Dobby the House Elf in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) Toby Jones is already onboard to star as Capote. The movie will begin filming in November on a budget of $10
