IFC acquires Factotum
IFC Films has acquired North American distribution rights to the Bent Hamer dark comedy Factotum. The movie stars Matt Dillon, Lili Taylor, Fisher Stevens and Marisa Tomei and is based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Charles Bukowski. Hamer co-wrote the screenplay with Jim Stark. The film premiered at Cannes in 2005.

Picturehouse gets Factotum
Picturehouse, the new joint distributor that was recently formed by New Line and HBO, has acquired North American distribution rights to Factotum, the Bent Hamer film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie stars Matt Dillon, Marisa Tomei, Lili Taylor and Fisher Stevens and is based on the semiautobiographical novel by Charles Bukowski. It centers on a writer who works in factories in order to support the habits he really wants to espouse - drinking, gambling, and hanging around with women of questionable morals.
